I am new to this board also. I also was diagnosed with Hyperthyroid & Graves – & I am also going for the uptake scan next week. The eye thing has been plaguing me for months. I am not young like you – I am 46, and thought the symptoms I was having were due to all kinds of things (stress, aging). Visine won’t help – I’ve tried it – and my eyes are still red, dry, and swollen. Ice packs don’t help either. I’m hoping that when I finally get on medication, the swelling will go down. I can sympathize. Don’t give up & let us know how your uptake goes. Hopefully, there won’t be any awful side-effects. We surely don’t need that!
