    Hi malexholly,

There are LOTS of people here who have had thyroidectomy and ended up feeling well pretty quickly. There are also those who have had a little difficulty. It’s hard to say where you’ll fall in that spectrum. Education is critical — understanding the mechanisms of thyroid hormone can help tremendously to keep you alert to changes. Still, thyroid hormone levels cannot be raised & lowered in an instant. Things take time.

It’s got to be better than the rollercoaster of Hashimoto’s & Graves’ though. :-) Remember, you’ll be getting CLOSER to normal at every turn, so it’s a little better all the time. Celebrate your advances, every single one.

I had my thyroid removed June 05. All is well right now. A little rough go of things initially but once you are on the right medication things are much better. Best of luck!! Katie

Kate: How long did it take after surgery for you to get your medication adjusted to your needs. My daughter had surgery last week, already her eyes are better. wanda
