I know that when we’re hyperthyroid or even if we’re not, but have Graves, many of us avoid sushi. I know seaweed is not good because of the high iodine content. Even post surgery, I’ve found that seaweed razzes me like caffeine. I was up until 3:30 AM once after having a sushi dinner! Tonight we went out for sushi. I asked for them to use soy paper instead of seaweed to wrap the sushi. So, you can have sushi without seaweed! Even if you’re avoiding fish, there are the veggie and egg varieties. Just thought I’d throw that out there. Hoping I’ll sleep well tonight after my soy paper wrapped sushi.

Thanks, Alexis! I’m a *huge* sushi fan, but definitely have cut way back since my diagnosis. Will have to check out the soy paper option!
