    Hi everyone,

Just thought I would give an update. Well, had to rush to see my endo yesterday due to not sleeping at all since Sunday night. Symptoms also include thirsty all the time, and a headache. Running around allot cleaning my house. Good news my heart rate down to about 85. I have not slept even though I take Ambien. I took Lorazepam, still nothing. My endo got worried, so I drove the hour to her office yesterday. By the way, I use to get very nervous when I drove, and at times would not drive anywhere, that had to do with highways. I do not get that anxiety like I use too. Well. This is what is going on. My thyroid was very large, I believe at about 120 mm, something like that. I have notice it going down, to all most nothing in the past couple of weeks {thanks to the RAI} it is not at about 30mm give or take. The SIDE EFFECT for this thing shrinking so quickly, it let loose so much thyroid hormone that it affect me very dramatically. I lost four pounds in two days, and my normal blood presure of 120/85 went to 148/105, very bad for me. I am basically on bed rest for one week; I can work, but must take it very easy. Blood work at the end of October, then perhaps the medication during the first week of November, as long as I do not go hypo before that. I am noticing improvement, just in my mental status. So I guess just a few more nights, and the worse will be over. Has anyone else had a reaction like this? My endo told me that it appears I have had Graves for a long time. This would be why my thyroid had so much hormone stored.

Eye exam Saturday, hope that goes well. Otherwise feeling like I did the right thing with RAI.

I hope everyone else who that the RAI in the last two months are doing well too. Take care

    Dear Julies,
"Otherwise feeling like I did the right thing with RAI."[
It’s good to read that, and good that you feel that way, even in the midst of all that is going on/
That will give others a more positive spin on RAI.

Do you live in Ohio? Sometimes I have no idea what the subject is really saying  Please let us know how you are doing, so we can enjoy your improvement. In the meantime, get that rest your doctor is recommending. I don’t know about the remainder of your life, but this may be your best chance for YEARS! <img decoding=” title=”Very Happy” />

    Take care,

hi, when i got my rai done, i was the same way. my thyroid was enlarged as well, its still swollen some, but not as bad. it’s been 2 weeks and 5 days. i feel so much better. at first i was very hyper, my doctor said there was so much dumping. he told me to take beta blockers to help with my symptons, i could not sleep at all, i had to be doing something all the time. that has calm down, i’ve been sleeping somewhat better, slept 10 hrs last nite, waking about every 2 hrs, but would fall back asleep. usally could not sleep at all.
glad to here your doing better, it’s a rough road, but in the long run, it’s all worth it. <img decoding=” title=”Wink” />
