    Hi Linda

    How have you been?

Yes, I do and still do take Armour. I first heard about at a NGDF seminar in Louisville several years ago. I decided to take it because the doctor there stated that some people need a little extra T3. I was still so miserable after being Hypo for several years after I had RAI, so I decided it was worth a try. It did take some convincing of my endo to use it because not all endos believe that some of us need T3 replacement. After starting it I believe it was a couple months to begin to feel the difference. It’s been several years so I really don’t remember for sure. Many of the hypo feelings subsided, like the fatigue, major aches and pains and just not feeling well. I still get aches and pains often but not continual like before. So, as a result I’m very happy with Armour. I took a genetric form of Snythroid.

    Hope this helps you.

    Hi Diane,

I remember that you do or did take Armour for thyroid replacement hormone. Can you tell me how you got to the point of using Armour? Did you try Syntroid first? What kind of improvement did you noice once you started taking Armour and how long did it take to feel better?

Thank you for the reply, Diane. Armour is something I will research and probably consider trying it. I’ve tried several strenghts of Synthroid
swinging one way or the other. I’m in normal range but I’m tired, sleep
and ache. I no longer expect to be completely pain free but I sure would like a little less. I have recently become insulin resistant. I’m feeling pretty low about the diagnosis because I have maintained a healthy diet for several years. I feel as blind-sided with the possibility of diabetes as I felt with the Graves diagnosis. My doctors say, diet and exercise is the answer. I have. Last week I ask my PCP of 20 years if he remembered me a few years ago when I was a normal weight with excellent blood tests concerning my weight — exercising and walking like my purpose was to become Mrs. Health USA. He replied, yes. I said, “well I’m that same person.”

Thanks everybody for letting me rant. Linda

    Hi Linda

I understand your frustration, since I’ve been hit with a couple of new diagnosis. It seems I hear the word test and I know I won’t get a negative report. Whatever did happen to those “good old days” haha. One thing I’ve learned with Graves is acceptance and that does help me a lot. Good luck with the Armour.
