    Hi.

I was diagnosed with Graves in September 2011 and TED in June 2012. I underwent 10 radiation treatments which were successful. I was left with significant upper lid retraction on both eyes. I have undergone 3 mullerectomies which have completely corrected my left eye, but I am still left with some residual retraction and irritation on my right eye. My opthalmologist has suggested a permanent lateral tarsorraphy. I understand the procedure, but can’t seem to find alot of information and before and after pictures of it.

My question is: has anyone had this done and if so, were you happy with the results in regards to both reduction in irritation and appearance?

    Thanks!

Hello – I’m not familiar with that procedure, but hopefully, you will see some other responses.

I did find this article online; the two authors are both past presenters at GDATF patient conferences. (Warning: some of the pictures are fairly graphic).
