I’m not familiar with the test you describe but lost of color vision is a common indicator of Graves’ Ophthalmopathy. I lost most of mine at one point of the disease but it has mostly returned.

My Dr seems to believe I may have Graves Disease.I’m in the preliminary
stages of dx process, thyroid studies are “borderline”, but according to
my Dr. , I’m showing clinical changes consistant w/ Graves. My right
eye does protrude, the eye lid does not close or cover as much of the
eyeball, I have frequent double vision problems and the eye is dry all
    the time !

My question concerns a test administered by the Dr last week. I was told
to look through a piece of red glass at a point of light projected onto
the screen ahead. When I covered the right eye and looked at this point
I saw a white spot above a sort of half circle red spot. When I covered
the left eye and looked I only saw a white spot, even though I was
looking through a piece of red glass ! I’m totally confused. And I
didn’t think to ask the Dr at the time if there was any significance to
this result, but I seem to think there may be.

I also seem to be experiencing problems distingishing between blues
and greens, is this consistant with Graves ?

Sorry for the multitude of questions in this post and look forward to any
    all responses.
