I’m putting a symptom/medical history timeline together. She already has the thyroid blood work and scan.

I’m not sure if anyone has ever ordered thyroid blood work for me before. Does it really matter or is the high level all that matters now? I can call around to see if any doc did it, if it’s important.

Is there anything else I should do?

    Hi Kalty,

I’m far from being an expert here but I think since your Endo has the last blood work results plus the scan she probably won’t need any older thyroid test results. My Endo never asked for any. The levels will tend to go up or down and vary according to treatment with either meds, RAI, TT or even doing nothing.
It would be a good idea to write down any symptoms, concerns or questions you may have. When my Endo started talking I forgot everything I was going to say, couldn’t get a word in edgewise.

I hope you get the answers you need.
Good Luck and keep in touch.

    Hugs.

I can’t think of any reason your endo would need any past thyroid test results right away. It would be a question to put on your list of questions for your endo.

For me, now that I just had a TT, I started replacement. I had a near 6 year remission with lots of level checks so we know what my body’s ‘normal’ numbers look like and that will help give us a target to shoot for in determining my right replacement dose.

    Take care.

    Laurel.

Agree with Barbra and LaurelM that the *current* results are much more relevant than trying to dig up past results.

Definitely smart to put the symptom list and timeline together before your first visit!
