    I must have registered twice not realizing it and thought I had wrote more in my feed ??

    I am feeling great! I went back to work today and didnt really have any problems! My throat hurts a little but not like it had right after surgery. My steri strips came off 2 nights ago, however my incision was still open so I put new strips back on and now my throat/skin feels “tight” ? Im guessing its just from the new strips. My scar is a little larger than I was hoping, however I will just deal with it and be thankful that all I have is a scar! :)

    ChristinaCecilia – So glad to hear that all went well! I’ve occasionally had Internet posts go “poof” on various forums that I participate in. Now I usually write responses first in a word processing program and then cut & paste to the forum. Saves a lot of heartburn when those occasional glitches occur!

    Hi, Christina==

    Welcome to the forum!

    It’s normal for your neck to feel tight after surgery. Even after the steri-strips come off. Once your incision has closed you can use Vit E oil or Mederma to help minimize the scarring. It’s also helpful to keep your incision covered up when out in the sun to prevent the scar from becoming permanently red. You only need to do that the first summer after your surgery.

    I hope you continue to feel good. Try to get rest, our bodies consider thyroidectomy major surgery, so it can catch up to you if you don’t get enough down time.

    Keep in touch with us and let us know how things progress.

    Hi Christina,

    How have you been feeling? Your TT happened about a week before mine, so I would love to have a bit of a heads up on what I am coming up on ;).

    I return to work next week, 15 days post TT and I have to jump in at full speed (gotta love accounting and being a one-woman show).

    I hope you are feeling better and your incision is healing nicely. My steristrips are off and I am happy to report, my scar is smaller than I was prepped for.

    Take care!
