When I woke up this morning and was getting ready for work, I looked in the mirror and did not see two of myself. For the past year and 2 months I have had double vision corrected by prisms. Today, I can’t wear the prisms without getting jumbled vision. Has anyone else had this? It appears that my pupil is more aligned which accounts for the vision change but overnight? Does the muscle just relax? I found an old pair of glasses but my vision is still a bit off. Can’t wear the prisms however because that is way off.

My eyes change constantly. I mostly have diplopia while lying down,or on the up gaze or down gaze. The condition was much worse, prior to treatment for hyperthyroidism. When one pair of glasses stop working, I put on a pair with a different perscription. There are even times when my vision is, briefly, perfect. I have wondered if it is a case of the muscles being too relaxed, or too tight.

My double vision went in and out so frequently that I could never wear prisms. It is possible that your TED is going into the remission stage, when the problems tend to go away, at least in part. That would be a lovely turn of events.

    Hello All,
I was so excited that the double vision was gone and that my pupil seemed to be directed straight forward as opposed to down and to the right. Then as quickly as it changed, I had the double vision again. Yikes I hate what this disease does to me. I am always second guessing what a symptom means. My doctor just told me that it is a sign that my disease is still active and told me to hang in there. I was wishing that this was a sign of remission. I need to get the array of glasses out for whatever my vision is day to day.
