Have enjoyed reading many posts. I am recently diagnosed. I am actually glad I have a name to my disease (not happy about disease). I have been unwell on and off for a very long time. Gave up caffeine about five years ago, so I kind of pinpoint it to around that time. Severe anxiety with caffeine, so adios caffeine.
Kept going to doctor with palpitations and other symptoms, but we couldn’t put our finger on it.

I am active, and overall heathy. In January last year I decided to drop Ten pounds. I accomplished my goal in June. I was feeling great, inflammation was down. In July started some home improvement around the house, and started to feel bad again. In October all the symptoms came out to play, hence finally my Grave’s diagnosis. It’s hard when you are a women in your 50’s, with all the changes your body is going through.

I need to try and get past the fatigue and exercise again. Looking forward to reading more of the posts.
    Thank you for listening.

Hello and welcome! I was also very sensitive to caffeine while I was hyper. I had to give it up cold turkey, which was sooooooo painful.

Now I’m fine with a latte or a mocha, but will usually do half caff for straight up coffee. A full cup of the good stuff will get me completely wired (and not in a good way) for several hours. I’m slightly on the hypo side now, so not sure if that’s still thyroid-related or because I was off of it for so long.

Take care – and keep us posted!

I am getting my bloodwork done today. I had some great numbers last November. Keeping my fingers crossed. I asked the Endo to please do a complete blood panel, all thyroid levels and liver, kidneys and Vitamin D levels. And he agreed.
