@TerrieC – I would have found that comment to be hurtful as well. :( You and your husband might be interested in this bulletin from the GDATF called “An Open Letter to Husbands of Graves’ Patients:

Hopefully, this will help give your husband a little better perspective on what you are dealing with.

Hello to all! Im 45 and was diagnosis with Graves in Sep 2012. Since then I have experienced hair loss, headaches, mood swings, muscle aches (legs)& insomnia -i only sleep 3 hrs a night. I am extremely fatigue. I FEEL AWFUL EACH AND EVERYDAY.im taking methimazole & atenolol and last week labs showed low white blood cell count. Thyroidectomy scheduled for March 4.

    Please provide post-surgery experiences?

@IngridRelax – Hello and welcome! Hopefully, you will get some responses here. You might also consider posting this in a brand new thread so that more people will see it. The “New Topic” button is in the top left-hand corner of the screen, just underneath the butterfly logo.

Also, this board has a search function (in the top right-hand corner of the screen), so you can run a search for “thyroidectomy”, “surgery”, etc. to read other posts about thyroid surgery. This is also an informative site:
