maybe the CT contrast didn’t do so much…

    T3 231 ref range 71-180 (lower than last year – 303)
TSH .006 ref range .450-4.5 (same number I had last year)
    T4, Free 2.33 ref range .82-1.77 (lower than last year – 3.85)

Was supposed to have a biopsy of the mass in my neck Friday but the doctor didn’t think he could do it safely due to blood vessels surrounding it. He did say it is not a cyst as we hoped.

I’m supposed to see an ENT this week to biopsy it. We leave for Italy next week and I had hoped to have a dx before we leave – really want to enjoy this vacation, but if I’m worried about cancer I don’t see that happening.

The stress of the unknown is really getting to me – haven’t slept well in weeks…yesterday and today I’m really struggling, would stay in bed all day if I could…I don’t understand how I can be so exhausted yet unable to sleep

See my endo next week just before we leave, hoping I can keep my meds where they are – I’m taking 5 mg of Tapazole/day.

No rest for the weary huh?

Hang tough and stay positive and hopeful in spite of adversity. I know it is easier said than done but we’ve all got to try or at least fake it and trick our brains into believing it.

I’m rooting for you and vibing good stuff your way.

    Love to you and all,

I’m thinking the mass is simply increased vascularity. Get the dumb thing done, find an internet cafe or take your iPhone or droid to Italy. ENJOY this wonderful place.
And-being the master of four cancers, thyroid cancer is one of the most benign, least worrisome cancers that is known. But you most likely don’t have it. Rare.
Have a great trip. And i do understand your concern and disappointment about this latest wrinkle. I am sorry that it did not get done last week

@Talley, I know exactly where you are coming from. I’m waiting on pins and needles after my surgery on Friday of my uterus. Hoping biopsy will come back negative as well.

Trying to keep busy. I have been to Italy and saw Venice, Rome, Florence, and Milan. This actually could help you keep your mind off things, so I would try to put on the back burner and then just ENJOY yourself. Great shopping in Florence, see the Vatican if you can – it is beautiful! And you will get a great glimpse of the Swiss Alps too when you fly over.

I think this trip is the best thing for you right now.
Sending nothing but good thoughts your way and feeling exactly the way you do!

Hello – I’m so sorry you are dealing with this, but I agree with those who said the vacation will hopefully be a positive in helping to take your mind off of health issues.

When you have the biopsy done, you might ask how long the results will take and how you will be notified. I had biopsies done earlier this year for two different cancers. Fortunately, both came back clear, and both times the results were available in a matter of days. One doc e-mailed me, the other called.

    Wishing you all the best!

    Hi Talley,
I am happy the contrast hasn’t seemed to have any impact. Please be aware though, through my own Research and subsequent discussion with my Endo, the impact of the contrast may not show up for anything up to 3 months, it also may not show up at all. I hope the latter is the case for you, but please be aware of any changes or hyper symptoms you may notice yourself. Take care.
    Cheers
    Deb
