Recently I have had some seriously dry eyes. On about the 4th doctor within the same practice (I has having to go in several times a week) This one suggested a clear, non-prescription contact lens. Immediately, that eye stopped watering. I wore it continuously for 5 days (until the next checkup).. My SPK (if those are the right letters) went from a +4 to +1-2. Now I am wearing one in each eye for a week. I am so ecited, because there is something that can be done–even if only temporarily–that can relieve the dryness (and the pain). Just want to let you know that there is something you can ask for. They actually call it a “bandaid” for the eye. I am still taping them at night, but it is SO MUCH BETTER.

    Take care, Nancy

Nancy, I am sorry I never did mention this when we discussed eye! I tried “bandage contacts” years ago, but because of two to four botched eyelid surgeries, my lids push the contacts right out of my eyes the minute I blink.
Glad it is giving you some relief. I have started to tape the “worst”elegy closed when I sleep, cause taping both of them is just too dangerous if I get up!
