I switched vitamins when I was diagnosed because my original had 100% RDA of iodine. I went with one that had no iodine. BUT, it has 200 mcg of Selenium. Then, i read conflicting stuff on Selenium (one study showed an increase risk of diabetes!) and if you are not in a selenium deficient area it could be bad for you.

I’m just so confused and feel like no matter what I do, it’s something wrong. :/

So, multivitamin with or without iodine? If without, what brand?

Hello – I would ask your general practitioner or endo for a recommendation on vitamin/mineral supplements. There is just SO much conflicting information out there on Selenium supplementation, it’s hard to know what to think!

My own GP recommended a specific multi with no iodine…although I’m not thrilled with it, as it has way more than 100% of the RDA of several nutrients.
