Sharing more good news.
Finally heard from my Endo’s office yesterday. (I had left a message w/the nurses but hadn’t rec’d a call back) I had called yesterday again to find out if I could start moderate aerobic activity w/light weights for 20-30 min. a day.YEEHAA! I was given the go ahead as long as I can tolerate it. I walked the track 4 x around at a leisurely pace at our local Relay for life. This is an important event for me to be able to do w/my team, my sister & DD. I will probably be sore tomorrow but it felt so good to walk in the fresh air for actual exercise/family/friends remembering our loved ones. We had rain earlier, but it had all cleared up by the time we got to the track. The stars were out and the luminary ceremony beautiful.
good night..off to bed to get up in a few hours to start cleaning house again, mainly putting everything in its place, DH’s cousins should be here before noon. But I may start my day out w/a short walk w/1 lb weights
What a good feeling! A step on the road to "normalcy."
Congrats,
EmilyCongratulations! And thanks so much for the update, I LOVE seeing good news! ” title=”Very Happy” />
I’ve had the OK to exercise for awhile, but it really was a struggle to get back into it. I would walk with my kids to the playground and have to rest when I got home! Today I rode my bike about 10 miles with my 5-yr old (who just mastered a 2-wheeler) and when I got home I was just tired – you know normal "I have just exercised" tired, not "OMG, I think I’m gonna die" tired. I do notice my bike helmet bothering my neck though. I can tell my thyroid is still enlarged. But what a good feeling.
I’ve learned to enjoy those small victories.
Emily
