First I have had trouble with my Mirc just disappearing off my screen and booting me off so I deleted it and reinstalled it only I keep getting booted off. Can anyone help me figure this out before tonight? Now for the update. We saw a new psychiatrist for our 13 year old son who hates me and everyone else in this family. He put his fist through a window a month ago, and in an explosion last week he kicked the wall and put a large hole in it. He thinks he’s the boss, noone can tell him what to do and he never is at fault or did anything wrong. This new doctor called us back and wants to see us this afternoon at 4:15. He is taking Jacob off his ADHD meds and going to try anti-depressants first. If they don’t work then he said he’ll put him on Lithium then if that fails Charter Hospital. Well listening to the radio last night they were discussing schizophrenia and it fit Jacob to a tee. We looked it up last night on the web and also bi-polar. I never knew it was so widespread. 1 in 100 people are bi-polar. and 50 % of teenagers who are schizophrenic commit suicide. I plan to ask this doctor today to run several tests. First a thyroid profile to make sure it is not thyroid disease, second an eeg and/or a ct or mri. These last three according to the web say that in schizophrenia, these tests well show abnormalities like enlarged blood vessels in the brain. If he is put on Lithium someone e-mailed me that it will affect the thyroid. Is this true? Does anyone know? Please I need to know before we decide what meds to put him on. I know Mirc and Support-Group com has a bi-polar group but I’m afraid to go there. If he is bi-polar, I will accept him with love and never be afraid or embrassed about this. This is a phsyical problem and not mental. Please pray for us. Mike’s mother had surgery today for numerous growths under her tongue, in her mouth and on her vocal cords. I think because she’s a chain smoker all her life, it’s metastic cancer. Mike is so scared today. Please pray for us all. Thanks. I’ll let you all know about the visit later.
