I was diagnosed with hyperthyroid 3/10/2015, I have had a lot of chest pain (all ER visits ekg’s, chest xrays have been normal) last week I had an echo done because my endo wanted to make sure my heart was ok. Results came back this AM and it shows mild pulmonary hypertension, minor tricuspid regurgitation, preserved left ventricular systolic function. is this something that will go away? any experiences with this? this thyroid train has been off the rails and I’m trying not to panic.

Hello and welcome – hopefully, others here will chime in with their experiences, and I would check with your doc for his/her opinion.

I did have mildly elevated high blood pressure at the time of diagnosis, although I was not diagnosed specifically with pulmonary hypertension. I can tell you that problem *did* go away once my thyroid levels were stabilized.

Take care – and please check back to let us know how you are doing!

I suggest you establish a relationship with a cardiologist you like, to review the echo, discuss the LV systolic function, the mild tricuspid regurgitation (pretty common, but discuss with him/her) and the pulmonary HTN should be followed, but you can begin with the cardiologist.

None of this is urgent, like next week, anyway, most likely you could not get an appt. that rapidy anyway! (:

I’d ask your endo, and any friends who are happy with their cardiologist, if you know any, and proceed from there.

It is good to have these docs on board, establish the relationship, and baseline info.

You do have a lot on your plate, but it is all manageable.
I know, cause I have three cardiology issues myself! (:
