    Hello everyone,

I have good news. Since my TSH is now normal and my fT4 has gone hypo (you can see my labs under post New Labs posted last Friday), my Endo wants to lower my dose. I’m happy about this as you can imagine. Maybe I’m on my way to becoming euthyroid.

My Dr has decreased my Methimazole dose from 30mg/day to 10mg/day :) I used to take the 30mg in a divided dose of 10mg every 8hrs. 10 in the AM, 10mg in the afternoon, and 10mg at night. Now that I’m taking 10mg/day I’m wondering if I should take 10mg in the AM and get it over with or if I should take 5mg in the AM and 5mg at PM … to spread it out.

Does anyone take 10mg/day? If so, how do you take it? I wonder which way is more effective?

I’m going to ask my pharmacist as well but I wanted to hear your input.

    Thank you in advance.

Hope everyone is doing well today,
    Caro :)

Hello – I would definitely check with your doctor or pharmacist.

Methimazole, unlike PTU, *can* be taken in one daily dose. However, many docs (including mine) do recommend that the dose be split up.
