Don’t know but thinking back to my husbands surgery to remove a tumor from his salivary gland it could just be scar tissue forming. I’d get in touch with the doctor on Monday though. Hope that you are well today.

I was thinking the same thing…scar tissue.
As always..talk with you GP. That will give you the peace of mind you are looking for.
I would encourage you not to "google" anything…you will get tons and tons of "DX’s". Don’t let you imagination go there. I understand what that it like….been up and down that road.
You are recovery from a major surgery. Give yourself a year to let your body catch up…don’t let your mind run down a road that’s not there. Negative emotions and feelings are toxic enough. Stay postive and remember that you ARE on the road to healing. ” title=”Smile” />Ok this is a long shot and I do intend to call my GP on Monday. However, I noticed a lump at the right side of my neck yesterday. Its definitely under the skin about the size of a large pea possibly bigger, it moves when I touch it, isn’t sore but noticeable when I move my neck to the left. I am so scared that its related to my thyroid or more so cancer.
Someone mentioned to me ( a very experienced nurse) that people with chronic fatigue or RA can develop lumps like this on occassion or possibly its lupus as I have other symptoms seemingly ( I have avoided looking up as I don’t want to pass out on the floor when its something I most likely don’t have and therefore don’t need to worry)..Surely it wouldn’t be related to my thyroid?
Thanks again friends xxxxxxxx
I also wanted to mention that if you had thyroid cancer that it would most likely show up in your Radio Uptake Scan. On top of that..the surgeon would have probably found it during the TT…especially if it is the size of a pea (that is a big size in regards to cancer).
My Endo told me that the Scan is the tell all for the state of the thyroid.
My ultrasound showed solid and cystic nodules ALL over the thyroid along with a goiter and a totally diseased state. My scan told even more of this story. It’s like the ultrasound is black and white…and the scan is color. ” title=”Wink” /> Sometimes you can see cancer in a ultrasound..but the uptake is the big scan that will give your Dr. all the info they need.
Try to relax and breathe…you will get through all of this.
Hi there
It could possibly be a swollen lymph node… swollen glands…I have these all the time when I am under the weather with a cold..
So don’t worry it could be something very minor. Best to check it out with your doctor and get the reassurance that you need!
I am so glad to hear that you are feeling well otherwise!!
LakeviewHi all,
Well I never got to call the GP. However, the lump has went down a good wee bit and I took a cold a few days later so think it may have been related. Its not near my scar so knew it wasn’t scar tissue. It is nearer the back of my neck. I will keep a wee eye on it and if it doesn’t disappear completely in the next week or two then I will call my GP.
Thanks for all your help cxxx
I have the same lump on the back right side. it is more prominent when I turn my head to the left. I was sick for a while with pneumonia, and a sinus infection, and while I am healthy again, the lump is still there. I am going to mention it to my endo on 11/30 when i see him again. I am aware that it is probably a lymph node, but confused as to why it is still swollen. I’ll let you know what he says to me.. ” title=”Smile” />
