I’ve been having a tough time with leg cramps. I’ll wake up in the middle of the night with a charley horse in my leg if I roll my legs over a certain way. Even if I’m watching TV on the couch and shift a certain way – my muscles get all knotted up.

I feel them when I walk sometimes (in my thigh), and sometimes sitting in my chair at work.

I know it has something to do with GD. What can I do? <img decoding=:” title=”Question” />

I have my husband massage by legs every night. This seems to help me. You can take a warm bath and then stretch some before bed too. It could be that your potassium levels or other mineral or vitamin levels, such as the Bs are way off too. You might have the doc check them next time you go if you are still having cramps. I also stretch my legs every morning too.

I’m already on 5000 IU of vitamin D once a week, since my levels were low for that.

I’m going to call her next week and ask about Potassium.

I wish I had someone to massage my legs every night!

I am so sorry you are experiencing leg cramps, I had them also before I was diagnosed with GD and shortly after. They seemed to stop after I was on Tapazole for a while.

Not sure if this will help but I was always told to eat bananas while I was pregnant because I had leg cramps then too. The bananas seemed to help and of course they are loaded with potassium.

Good Luck and I hope they subside soon.

I get the leg cramps at times too, since being diagnosed in Feb. I think if I am hydrated well and had either a baked potato or banana that day, it seems to not happen. It will usually wake me up out of sleep in my darn calf muscle.
