For any of you that are interested in becoming support group leaders:

    What: 2008 Leadership Training

    When: March 8-10, 2008
Arrive late March 7th, and leave after lunch on the 10th.

Where: Brevard, NC (Asheville regional airport – AVL)

3 nights rooms, meals and materials are provided. At this time, you will be responsible for your transportation (we are looking into grant money to cover this, but don’t have it yet–so don’t count on it). Make reservations soon, for the best prices.

Who: All prospective support group leaders/co-leaders.
Spouses welcome, but you will be working with us
All other support group leaders who need to brush up on skills, or need a “shot in the arm” to get re-energized.

Why: Because all our group leaders recieve the same training. It keeps you from being left out in the cold when trying to “invent” a support group. It gives you the training, skills, & information you need to be a good support group leader. It gives you a support group of your peers.
Because we have some of the best support groups in the world.
    Because it’s “what we do”!!

If you are thinking about being a support group leader this is the training to go to. I do not know of any other non-profit our size that offers free training to their support group leaders.

Jan and I have been on the “Training Staff” for over six years and I can tell you we learn something new every time.

There are a number of states where we have no one to provide support. So come on out and join the NGDF to help spread the support to your home areas.
