I have not been having good days and I realized that I am straying from what keeps me centered, not just my Catholic religion, but my Native American Beliefs. To that end, I offer this prayer which states that we are all related, both in English and Lakota:

    Tunkasila, hoye wayinkte
    Namahon yelo
    Maka sitomniyan
    Hoye wayinkte
    Mitakuye obwaniktelo
    Epelo

Grandfather, a voice I will send
    Hear me!
    All over the universe
    A voice I send
With my relatives I shall live
    I am saying this

Basically, this is saying that we all need to get along because we all come from the same creator and will return to the same creator. If I said anything which offended anyone, then please accept my heartfelt apology. The stress of straying from that which heals me is telltale–I am not the same person.

Everyone prays in a different way and a different voiice…”Hail Mary, full of Grace….;” “Our Father, who art in heaven…….;” “Tunkasila, hoye wayinkte…” but they all mean the same: “Grandfather, Jesus, Creator (whatever you call your higher power), I am hurting, send me your healing Grace.” I will get down on my knees every single day and thank God that even though I may hurt, I am alive and here to feel it! I’m just not ready for the alternative.

May all Warriors in this fight be blessed…….

    Mitakuye Oyasin
