Wow! You sound just like me in 2002. I have the thyroid eye disease (TED) and Graves and had lots of help with both. The RAI was the first step. Then, the eye doc had to wait until the TED was out of the “hot” phase into the “cold” phase before he could do anything. There is a lot to learn about Graves and TED. You can learn a lot by reading recommended books (go to Home page) – I liked The Thyroid Solution. And, on the home page, you will notice a button on the left hand side labeled “Medline” – you can get a lot of info there. One thing I did that helped also was to keep a journal of my health, including doc visits, medications and their dosages, and photos of my eyes. Easy does it – this disease can get under control and you should be able to get weight under control, exercise, etc. But, for now, you are “untreated” and you need to give yourself time ….recovery is slow. Just keep venting and asking questions. These facilitators are highly trained and so supportive, as are the other Graves patients. Welcome to the NGDF! Joy in SoGA
