I was diagnosed with Graves After a thyroid storm in November of 06. I went through around 9 months of treatments and monitoring for mt hyperthyroid and heart. I was placed an access because I could not work, when i was cleared and released to go back to work access drooped everything. Because of my medical history and preexisting condition I cant get anything related to my thyroid covered. I’m in Tucson AZ, and the one company that would take me is very expensive and anything preexisting wont go into effect for one year. Its been a year and a half since Ive seen a doctor, had a lab, or taken a pill. I feel no symptoms of being hyper like I did before the storm.I don’t know what to do. my employer does not offer insurance to hourly employees and every company Ive talked to wont cover me, please help with any info.

Wow that stinks. I have to say our Canadian system may be a bit slow, but at least we have free health coverage. Do you have clinics in your city for people who can not afford to pay for health care. There must be an organization out there that can offer you some help? It seems that it would be very important for you to get these tests done whether you are covered or not.
