I know this has probably been addressed here, but the dr just increased my thyroid dosage (after going hypo after RAI) and I was wondering how long before I can expect to feel better. Is a week too soon to expect a little change for the better? I recheck blood in one month.
On another note, regarding the heartburn and stomach problems some people have, I am a heavy water drinker, alwys have been and will be. I feel it is natures medicine, more or less. I think by drinking a full glass of water at each pill taking and in between during the day, you protect your stomach and make your body better able to receive the medicine, if that makes sense. I probably drink a good 2 quarts a day if not more. I did have heartburn starting up from prednisone, and the more water I drank the less I had the heartburn. Hope that helps someone.
Thank you to all here, both the givers and the receivers.

    Hi BBallmom,

How long it takes depends on the person, how they take the medication and how hyper or hypo they are.

Nice answer huh? It depends is not the answer you were looking for but so many factors come into play that it is impossible to give a direct answer.

Most people will notice a change in three to four weeks. That is why they do our testing every four to six weeks while we get adjusted.

We are only a click away.
