Hello – MMJ = Medical Marijuana
To my knowledge, there have not been any published studies regarding the use of MMJ for thyroid eye disease. One significant concern about this approach, though, is that smoking is a known risk factor for thyroid eye disease. Smokers are more likely to have severe complications from TED, and they do not respond as well to treatment options such as steroids and radiation therapy. And of the literally thousands of chemicals in cigarette smoke, doctors don’t know which ones are responsible for the TED connection – so we don’t know if the same chemicals might be in marijuana smoke.
