    Hi Wanda

I, too, am very fearful of the hypo stage. I think I’m going to have to do the RAI a second time pretty soon, and I’ve been thinking about how nice it would be to do the surgery and get it over with in one fell swoop. Last time my hair fell out so much I didn’t think I’d have any left, and I was mentally so wierd, felt like I was totally out of sync with everyone else in the world. Don’t wanna do that again. And then just wait for the thyroid to die, I bet they give you a big old dose the second time around, and you don’t have a clue when it will take effect.

At least with hypo they can regulate the dose pretty quickly. Hopefully. I’ll be interested to see the responses to your posts.

    Best of luck,
    elaine

    HI Again
I was thinking of asking for a huge dose first time around. Surgery sure looks better to me.
I am starting back to school in the fall and right now I have trouble staying focused, being very tangential. My brain is entirely to fast and I cant keep up. Its a real ball trying to hold a conversation with me, lol. But I worry that my mental faculties will slow down being hypo. Its just all so icky.
    Lord help us all,
    Wanda

Hi, I’m going back to school in the fall, too, after quite a few years, and it’s scary enough without the worry of having to deal with major hypo-ness. I’m also concerned about the memory problems, since I already have what my family refers to as the “stupid gene” :-) and now I’m absent minded to the extreme. Hopefully we can compare notes on school and Graves. Keep me posted on your progress and I’ll do the same.

    Best of luck, Elaine
