Cathy,
Glad to hear that you are able to cope with all the things you need to now. I am looking forward to that too. I have been on levoxyl for three weeks now and I hope the clouds will be parting soon. Fall is my favorite time of year and I hope to enjoy it. Hope your daughter is getting better now.ewmb
Hi all – I am so sorry it has been a couple months since I have checked in with the board. I teach/direct a program that is VERY busy in the fall – and my half-time faculty quite a week into our semester. This means, at our rural nursing program, that I am working 1.5 faculty positions until we get some new folks in place. And I am orienting 3 new faculty on top of that. So, I sort of burn out on medical-related stuff. I have been taking Saturdays off from anything nursing related whenever possible. I was in post grad school the last year and this semester was to be my break. So much for that except on Saturdays!!!
By and large – I am sure I will be around more in the Spring and Summer. During Fall semester, I almost wish I were still hyper ” title=”Smile” /> Well, not really – but could use some extra energy to get through it.
Graves does get better – I am on a wonderful upward spiral with that. Cholesterol normal, bone scan up 10% this year (still osteoporosis since before Graves but less severe and since RAI, I have responded to the parathyroid hormone treatment), TSH stable – and a problem spot on my mammos the last 7 years is so stable I am back at low risk. Life is good – just too busy at the moment . . . and then my daughter got lyme disease! See you all when it settles down a bit!
Cathy, Congrats on "facilitator" I did notice that!!!!
SOrry about dd getting Lyme. My ds14 got it when he was 3 yrs old. 3 weeks of not feeling well on those antibiotics the poor the kid. That was prompted me to have him see a new Pediatrician. He got it and then a year later he was infested with nymphs (baby ticks) and I shaved his head and pulled 25 off of him. I called the dr.’s office and they said no need to test him again since there is no bullseye. I was Livid and demanded it and said that he could get something else from ticks as well. They said no. I said Ok I’ll find a dr.’s office that will comply and care about their patients. I went to a another pediatrician and they were great and I still use them for all the kids.
I wont say dont work hard because I see you all ready are doing that with everything that needs to be done and no one in the office to help. Hugs and prayers for some energy!!! Good vibes good vibes!
Welcome back! I have missed you, but had no idea just how hectic things had become.
Take care,
