Does anyone else get hives fairly frequently? I
recall reading somewhere that people with Graves’ have a greater tendency to get hives. My skin is very sensitive and certain foods trigger it. It is constantly changing too, For instance one day I can have tuna and be fine another time the hives break out. Other foods like
those with a tomato base do it. Just curious if others
find this also. I have sisters who break out alot with hives but do not have Graves’.

Thanks for your input in advance.

    Hi Dee,
I also had hives while having Graves. I think it started last year. Sometimes I would get big welts over face, neck or stomach–usually occured at night which was strange. At the time i was taking Tapazole. It about stopped around the time I was taking less Tapazole to none. I remember getting them sometimes after eating dairy products like cheese.
But even when I didn’t eat them I’d get them, so I don’t know what it could have been. Maybe the Tap. My skin is also sensitive. But it seems to have become more sensitive after having Graves. When I kneel on my knees or lean on elbows a couple minutes sometimes I get a welt around the area. Patience

If the post makes me feel better – then it’s graves’ related as far as I’m concerned! That goes for all the jokes too. If I read one that offends me (which I haven’t yet), I’ll just chalk it up to the vast variety of cultures, age groups, etc. This is the best thing that I have found to lend me instant support whenever I need it. Please keep up the terrific work! There are so many of us that couldn’t get along without each and every one of you. Aloha …Pat :)
