Definitely Graves and not postpartum thyroiditis
I was really hopeful. I meet with the surgeon tomorrow. The methimazole is wearing off and I’m starting towards hyper again. I hope they can do the surgery quickly. Worst case scenario, I can go to my mom’s and get the surgery done at the end of May. I hope that is soon enough.

Hang in there lady! At worst, a couple weeks. We’ll all be praying/sending good vibes, for a speedy recovery. BIG HUGZ!!
I know it is not what you were hoping for but at least you have a name for it now and can go forward with a treatment plan instead of being in limbo. At least it made me feel better knowing there was really something wrong and it wasn’t just all in my head.
I agree. Limbo is hell. I like to know stuff, too. Now you can move along, do what needs to be done, and write back to this forum and help other people!
ShirleySorry to hear it wasn’t that better option Alexis but glad you mom found that great surgeon for you. Have you thought about trying natural options to help you until the surgery date? The stuff about L-carnitine is pretty interesting and it might not interfere in a bad way.
Do not try ANYTHING without your doctor’s OK, Alexis. There is a ton of bad information on the web about supplements (and everything else).
I am sorry that you don’t have thyroiditis. I know that you were hoping for a much simpler diagnosis. Keep in mind — we DO get well again, and I hope you are feeling much better, and soon.
Thanks all. I’m not a fan of supplements, no worries there. I’m going for part 2 of the scan in a minute & then meeting with the surgeon (the one where we live) after lunch. I’ll make my decision from there as my mom’s surgeon/ hospital needs to know by Monday if we’re going to come out there. He could do the surgery on the 29th. My scan percentage after 4 hours was 19%; the doctor thinks the 7 weeks of methimazole is still in my system somewhat. I’ve been off of methimazole for 12 days. So, the Graves seems to be on the rebound. Time is of the essence with this surgery, so hoping I really like the surgeon here and he could perform it even sooner, but if not; I will hold out until the 29th I guess. Not much choice there.
