Jenn – Thanks for the heads up…and for your efforts to raise awareness of Graves’ Disease!
Hi all. Some of you may remember I was a guest on The Dr. Oz show back in January. The show topic was about being misdiagnosed as having panic attacks when an underlying disease was causing them. Mine was Graves’ Disease. (I also have TED)
The show airs again today on the Dr. Oz show and also repeats tomorrow. Please check the website for times and channel listings.
http://www.droz.comI am the first guest so if you miss the first 5 minutes, you miss my spot. LOL Although most of my interview was edited out, at least Graves’ Disease was mentioned!!!
Also, thanks again to Peter Filocamo for contacting my Dr. with this great opportunity!
Regards,
Jenn
Jenn,
You did a stellar job in the Dr. Oz segment! I believe many Graves’ patients can very much relate to your testimony. I find it unbelievable that the symptoms are at times dismissed as a panic attacks or psychological disorders.
I’m not sure if you are aware of this, but your segment was aired internationally as well. Our Canadian network carried it and has the segment posted on their website. I have included the link for those interested. Your segment is within the first 5 minutes of the program (as you have pointed out).

Thanks again,
James
Hi, James:
I can testify to the fact that our symptoms can be written off as panic attacks/anxiety syndrome. I experienced that very thing myself. If this show can help educate doctors to the necessity of doing a simple, annual thyroid panel, it could save a lot of people a lot of years of suffering.
