    Andrew Gianoukakis, M.D.
    Associate Professor of Medicine, UCLA School of Medicine and Director of Endocrine Clinic, Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism at Harbor-UCLA Medical.

    His special interest focuses on autoimmune thyroid disease and thyroid cancer. His research concerns the pathogenesis of Graves’ disease. Dr. Gianoukakis has developed a primary thyroid epithelial cell culture model and has used this to identify important mediators of the inflammatory responses seen in Graves’ disease. The clinical significance of these findings is currently being examined in a clinical research study. The ultimate goal for this line of investigation is to identify molecular targets through which the disease process can be interrupted.

    Don O. Kikkawa, M.D., serves as Chief, Division of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Esteemed for his knowledge, surgical skill and personable style, Dr. Kikkawa continues to speak and teach to other physicians around the world. In 1997, he was selected to serve as Guest Editor of the International Ophthalmology Clinics monograph on "Aesthetic Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery." He is a recipient of the "Most Outstanding Publication" in 1995 awarded by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for his co-authorship on orbital and eyelid anatomy.

    Clinical Interests:

    Radioactive Iodine treatment for Thyroid Cancer and Hyperthyroidism; Radioimmunotherapy in Lymphoma; Neuroendocrine Tumors; Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Syndromes; and Pheochromocytoma. Dr. Avram’s research interests center on Radionuclide therapy for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL) and Thyroid Cancer, Quantitative I-131 imaging for accurate internal dose estimation in radioimmunotherapy for NHL.

    Mark J. Lucarelli, M.D., FACS
    Faculty, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health

    Dr. Mark Lucarelli specializes in ophthalmic plastic surgery (oculoplastics). This area includes eyelid surgery, brow lift, lacrimal surgery, orbital surgery, thryoid eye disease, fillers and Botox, and other facial procedures. Dr. Mark Lucarelli is fellowship trained and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is considered a leader in the field of ophthalmic plastic surgery.

    Kimberly Cockerham, M.D.

    Dr. Kim Cockerham actively keeps current in plastics, orbit, and neuro-ophthalmology. A passionate educator as well as practitioner, she is the co-director of the annual Bay Area Ophthalmology course at Stanford. Dr. Cockerham’s areas of interest include: eyelid and facial rejuvenation, thyroid eye disease, eyelid oncology, double vision and decreased vision due to optic nerve dysfunction.
