Rhonda….. ” title=”Sad” /> I am so sad to hear this but relieved you have answers. You are an amazing beautiful mother wife and friend. You have so much strength that is why i admire you. I will have you and your family in my prayers… I am here for you at any time. Again, sorry about your diagnosis but relieved you have answers. Hugs hugs and more hugs. Keep your faith in our savior and your strength for you and your family. We are here for you lady:)
Rhonda,
Will be thinking good thoughts for you. If you end up going the route of the nicotine gum at some point I’ve seen some great coupons for that in the past. Maybe the manufacturers have some on their websites. I know it’s expensive. We’ve done smoking cessation classes at work several times as part of our wellness program. I know that you will need support. See if your insurance has some materials that they will give out. The one that covers our work has books etc. that they give out for "free". Of course you’ve paid for this so ask for it if you need it. North Carolina has a hotline that is free from the state for smoking cessation. See if your state has one.Sorry about the Lupus diagnosis. I am sure that you are glad to know what’s going on. Your rheumatologist sounds good. I have to get back to one. I have had fibromyalgia for 14 years and now have some type of arthritis in my fingers as well as osteoporosis from the Graves. Watch the prednisone or any steroid over time if you can. My mom had to take it for years for her eyes and it gave her osteoporosis earlier than she might have gotten it.
Tears can be cathartic if you have time. Sounds like you’re busy a lot with little ones at home. I feel lucky to have had my troubles with teenagers who are great at chores.

I’m so sorry Rhonda for your dx, but at least you know what’s going on now!! I’m having trouble coping with GD along with TED so I can’t imagine what or how they will treat both. Please let us know your progress and what the rheumatologist says. It sounds like you have a very interested dr. on your side and I’m interested on how the rheumatologist decides on your treatment! You & your family are in our thoughts and prayers through this challenging time!!
Rhonda, I am sorry to hear your news. Sounds like you found a good doc, though. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully now that you know what is going on you are well on the way to feeling better!
Well everyone I got to see the Rheumatologist today. Guess What…..SLE…which translates to Lupus. She actually thinks that I’ve had the Lupus longer then the Graves. She put me on some older meds that they used to use for Lupus and RA..and it should stop the Lupus from getting any worse*keeping fingers crossed*. This lady pulled no punches. She is gathering all of my records all the way back to my stroke 2 years ago, and wants to see me in 3 weeks. She also put me on 10mg of prednisone daily to help with the pain and inflamation.
OK…the hard part. I know I should have stopped smoking already with the Graves but I haven’t yet….but I have to now!!! Nobody needs to chew my butt here, believe me the doctor did enough of that today. I could use all the prayers that anyone wants to say on my behalf and the behalf of my husband and children. My husband has been wanting to quit for a while now, and wanting me to also. Both of us quiting at the same time is gonna be rough. I do have a script at the phamacy for a nicatrol inhaler. Hopefully my insurance will cover it!!!!
Trying to remind myself that God truely is in control. This was not a surprise to Him. I also got labs drawn today to check my Graves. Trying to stay on top of that as well. And my youngest Heaven, may have to have tubes in her ears here shortly…again.
I hope everyone else is doing well. Treading water and keeping my head up. Hugs to all. Rhonda
