    Hi everyone,
It has been a while since I have posted here. I wanted to update you on what happened to me. I was very symptomatic 7 months ago (brain fog was terrible, along with fatigue, headaches, dry eyes, etc) and I was Becoming very depressed! I wasn’t sure what was going on but I assumed I might need a synthroid dose change. I told my doctor my symptoms and she said she would not do anything until I went gluten free for three solid weeks first. Reluctantly, I agreed. I found a gluten free app that I downloaded to my phone (very helpful in the grocery store and cleaning out kitchen cupboards), and began this journey. After 2 weeks I started feeling much better. Even body aches improved. Something I assumed was just a sigh of age. We decided to leave my dosage alone through the holidays. I just hit the 6 month mark gluten free and my symptoms have reduced greatly. I feel much better. I just had my thyroid levels checked and they have improved! I also have not needed eye drops this entire time. My ophthalmologist believes it has helped that I have gone gluten free. I know this may not help everyone, but it may benefit some knowing my story. Thank you for being here guys and I wish everyone good health.

Thanks for sharing your story! It’s believed that there are certain individuals who do not have Celiac disease (also an autoimmune condition), but still have sensitivity to gluten. So glad to hear that this has brought you symptom relief!

For those who are interested in trying a gluten-free approach, definitely talk to your doctor first, as he/she might want to test for Celiac before you try a gluten-free diet. If you go gluten-free first and *then* test for Celiac, the test results can be thrown off.
