I had my RAI on September 30 and went on PTU right away to control the storm, if there would be one. After blood work in November, I was taken off the PTU but still not hypo. Felt GREAT until a week or two after Thanksgiving and then…WHAM! Felt like a MACK truck hit me head on! I don’t remember feeling this tired before I was diagnosed with Graves. Was supposed to have blood drawn again on December 29, but called the doctor and had it done on Tuesday, Dec. 14. Got results this morning. My thyroid is NOT working any more and I can finally start synthroid! I hope the tunnel is finally getting lighter at the end! This is such great news as I know that is the state I wanted to get to.

The feelings when hypo are just horible! I live in SW Florida so this extreme cold weather we were having was not helping me at all, plus having arthritis coupled with joint pain when hypo made for struggling just to move around. Then the fact that I wanted to go back to bed right after getting up in the morning was not a good feeling for some one who is used to being an energizer bunny! I couldn’t layer enough clothes! And I never felt warm in my house. Hopefully this will all change soon. However, I’m going to Wisconsin for a week at Christmas so I’ll be in VERY cold weather! Good to see family at Christmas! Bad to be in cold at this time! I will survive because I keep saying "I am woman, hear me roar!"

I will post again when the effects of the synthroid have been felt! I’m just so excited to get to this point in my journey! It’s been a long and winding road but I know He has carried me every step of the way! It’s great to keep up with other journey’s on this board!
