Anyone else out there who had already been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia before they got a diagnosis of Graves? I’ve had it for 16 years, Graves for 3. Had RAI last May. Still not normal on replacement hormone yet. My new problem is that I am trying to exercise now- about 15 minutes every other day, very light so far. I remember going through this pain and feeling like I’m not healing after exercise when I was first diagnosed with Fibro. I know that my muscles wasted while I was hyper and have since turned to mush while waiting to come through hypo again. I went hypo on ATDs before I had RAI eventually.
Just wondering if anyone else had or is having these issues. I am so tired again and feel so heavy all the time and my tender points have flared as well. Have read that there may be an autoimmune part to Fibro but that is debatable.
Any advice or commiseration would be appreciated.

Are you spending time stretching prior to your exercise sessions? And, are you spending time stretching at the end? If not, you might try adding that. Whatever muscle group you are working needs to be stretched out before AND after exercise. I know it might seem silly to "warm up" and "cool down" muscles when your mind tells you that the exercise you are doing is "very light," but remember that to your muscles, "very light" right now may be a real "workout." I learned the importance of the warm up stretches about twenty years ago, pre-Graves. I took aerobic classes from a really good fellow who worked us into the ground. But I was never, ever sore afterwards, nor did I ever pull any muscles in his classes, because he spent 15-20 minutes on warm up, and another 15 minutes on cool down stretches.
I do try to stretch every day. Not always right before or after my "exercise". With my fibromyalgia I find that the stretching helps keep me moving but doesn’t always feel good. I am still going through so much pain in my muscles especially my large ones that it’s hard to keep moving some days. It took me several years to get in shape after I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia so I think if it is acting up now it will take me longer since my TSH is still off. Maybe getting that in check will really help. It is a catch 22 situation, need to move to feel better- don’t really feel like moving since I don’t feel well. Can’t lose weight because I can’t move enough- harder to move because I’m overweight. The really skinny days of hyper weren’t good either.
Just cutting back on calories isn’t enough for me right now it seems. My weight seems to be gathering in my hips and my thighs. Every woman’s dream I know that it’s healthier than having it around my heart so I am glad of that right now. Trying to find the sliver of a silver lining in anything.
Hope the spring weather is good where ever you are reading this. The sunshine is good medicine.
