I can’t really remember much dizziness myself, but Beth’s reply on 5/8/97 said she had felt really dizzy. See HEART SKIPS BEATS from Beth.

    Hi all,

Since Monday I’ve been feeling kinda dizzy, lightheaded and slightly
off-balance. As long as I stay in one place I’m pretty much fine, but
I’m beginning to wonder. I stopped off at my pharmacy last night after
work (they have one of those do-it-yourself blood pressure machines) and
my blood pressure was 135/80 and pulse was 71. All a little high of normal
for me. This morning when I got out of bed, I had to hang on to walls
to manuever down the hallway for the first few minutes, plus lately I
    have gotten clumsier than usual.

I have gotten new glasses (after 6 years) and the persciption is WAY
stronger than before and bifocals, but as of Sunday I had gotten
completely used to them (with the exception of going down stairs, I
keep trying to look down thru the bifocal). Since Monday I have been
having problems keeping my eyes working together (I’m far-sighted in my
left and near-sighted in my right, plus killer astigmatisms in both eyes).

Now, this last weekend I did do quite a bit more than I usually do (went
fishing while it was cold and windy and spent Sunday at an all-day gun
saftey class) and could tell I had really gotten more exercise than
usual, but I’ve been getting to bed early and actually sleeping most of
the night. But I’ve been waking up more tired than when I went to bed.
Work hasn’t been to strenuous (luckily it is end of semester and my
workload drops like a rock), but by 6pm I can barely crawl out of the
    building.

I’ve been on 400 mg PTU a day (and actually have been remembering to
take it. Thank goodness for alarm watches) and 80mg propranolol. I do
have an appointment to see my doctor June 4, but I’m beginning to
wonder if I should get them to get me in earlier (he’s the most popular
doctor in the practice, so he is usually booked at least a month in
advance). Has anyone else had dizziness and lightheadedness while on
this high a dose of PTU? I’m kinda wondering if maybe I am going hypo. I
have been feeling cold since last week (the weather has been mild, but
I kept wanting to turn the heat up when the thermometer in the trailer
was reading 76. I put a sweater on and the cold feeling goes away for
    a while).

    thanks,
    Jean C

    Hi SAS,
I know how hard it is to leave our “children” behind! I have 4, a demon cat, a snake, and 2 collies. I find I miss them so much when away even for a couple of days! They are a great comfort and ask nothing in return. And they are all spoiled rotten!

    LOVE
    JAN
ps. Happy vacation! B will forgive you!
