Although eye involvement can occur regardless of which treatment option is selected, studies have shown that there is a higher risk of eye complications for patients who choose RAI, particularly for smokers and for patients who have extremely high antibody levels.
That’s good that you found a specialist who is familiar with thyroid eye disease. You should have a better picture of what is going on after the CT scan and the visual field tests…please keep us posted on how you are doing!
