    Hi there,
Good to hear the surgery went well. I will be going for strabismius surgery sometime this year. I am not sure if you had this procedure done – but my dr tells me when I wake up he will reknot the stitches in my eyes after I do an eye test to see how double my vision is. He tells me that you don’t know right away how your vision will be – it takes about a month until you adjust from the surgery and then that will ultimately tell you if the surgery was a success – once some healing is done – also he told me that there is a 60% chance it will be perfect the first time. So,, the expectation is a second surgery or prism glasses – Please keep us updated on your healing process!

Still have some soreness, epecially when i look at differ angles. Idont know the problem your having but with me my left eye would wonder and I didnt have full vertical range. The surgery took about an hour. He then alligned my eye once I was awake and alert. Know I do not have d/v when Im looking straight but still have some at differ angles. I feel the surgery was a success, best x- mass gift this year by far. It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be , I agonized for a couple of months .This was my first surgery.GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.

When do you determine eye muscle surgery? I had the decompression surgery Jan 09, my eyes look much better, however I am having itchy, painful dry eye symptoms the past 3 weeks. I thought maybe this is stress. I think the doctors are great but not sure how to ask questions w/o becoming sensitive and teary with sadness

My friend had the strabismus (eye muscle) surgery @ six weeks ago. You will probably see much more improvement when all the swelling goes away. She said it was discouraging for the first few weeks, but now she has improved greatly, has almost no double vision now. I presume it will take at least two months to really evaluate it. I think I have finally accepted the fact that it is going to take as much as a year, maybe more, to have all these procedures done, get back to relatively normal vision. I have my first OD 2/2/10. I’ll give updates on how it goes. From my understanding, strabismus surgery is really easy post-op, compared to OD.
