Oh Bev, I am so sorry that you are having such a hard time. It is the emotional aspect of the disease that has caused me such heartache too. Did you ever have the RAI or surgery? Is this the aftermath? I had the surgery and am better but not where I was. It seems that you have to find a doctor to really work with you to get better. I wish you the best and hope you can get well. I found you need a whole team — endo, internist and psych. Hugs to you!

    Bev,

I know how you feel. Although I haven’t had this problem for 25 years. I have been having severe emotional problems, also. My doctor thinks that all this depression I have been having is caused by my Graves. I feel lucky that I have a doctor that doesn’t tell me, “It’s all in your head”.

Since you are hyper again , I supposed you opted for antithyroid drugs. Since you have had this that long have you considered trying something else?

Just want to say I am in need of some support right now. I have been on this graves disease roller coaster for 25 years. I have just had another bout of hyper and had to quit working. I am an emotional and physical mess. The reality of this has just hit home as I got my diagnosis forms from my dr. It is debilitating to see your diagnosis in writing for the world to see. He has depression/ sever emotional problems/graves disease as my diagnosis. I am always afraid that the mental health issues will never resolve themselves. I am more than depressed – I am SCARED- maybe I will never be right again. Even for a little while. This BB is my salvation at times.
