Shirley – Thanks for the suggestion! I would just caution everyone not to get *too* close to the steam, as I knew someone in college who got a pretty serious eye injury from the steam that came out when she opened a bag of microwave popcorn.

Isn’t your surgery coming up this week? Hope that all goes well!

Kimberly, thanks for your comment. However, this is MOIST, ie humid air, so sorta largely different from microwave popcorn, at least that is the way I see it. It really helped me a lot. Alternate thought is a hot shower, which really helps.
Thanks for asking about the surgery. I confess to being worried and stressed out about it today. It is Tuesday 2/1.

I tried something last night and this morning and it seemed to help a bit. I boiled water in a pan, and put my face over it to let the steam moisturize my eyes. It may be partly psychological, but I feel it gave me a small head start on the day, and on the nighttime, before I slathered ointment and gel on my eyes. I notice when I take a hot shower in the morning that my eyes are more comfortable for a while. It is a very small thing. I still have tears running down my face, which is related to dry eyes, and it is very difficult to deal with this problem. The tears cause blurring, the blurring decreases vision, blah blah blah.
