My problem was I had several teeth break off at the gumline. When I asked the dentist if it was Graves related he said he hasn’t been proven but if could be from different medicine. Some medicine can cause our mouths to be dry or change the different levels of our salvia. What you could do is a search on the board of dental problems and read more about it. Also ask your endo what he/she feels about it.

Since, I was told, I had Graves, I’ve noticed problems with 3 of my teeth splitting in half. I have a dentist appt for Monday. I hope maybe he can answer that question. I feel very uncomfortable with this, especially since I take very good care of my teeth. Has anyone had similar problems?

I have also had problems with my teeth, but I didn’t really notice the problems until after I had RAI. I’m not sure if GD is necessarily the culprit. I think for me it could have been the RAI, but I’m not sure. At this point, I’m just grasping at straws on everything that’s happening to me.

Whatever the case may be, a dentist should be able to take care of it and answer any questions.

we talked about this problem this week or last, cant remember. Ive had 3 teeth crack since getting sick. i do know dentist need to know our health problems just like other docs need to know. my dentist did great fixing my crackes and breakages…..after 3rd one i had a bone scan done but was in the normal range. i was told it was because i was carrying around this extra weight – kind of like using weights all the time, that i was in the normal range. talk to your doc and dentist. have a good evening. sandi.

Hi, Sandi! Good to see you back on the Board. I have had teeth problems. Just 6 mos ago I had a tooth (underneath a crown I have had for 15 years) just fall apart. Had to have a root canal and then rebuild tooth for crown to sit on. Then last month, I had a gum infection over that tooth and took antibiotics to fix it. I have dry mouth as a result of the various meds I take (have more than Graves now) and that seems to add to the mix. That’s it from me – Joy in NoGA mtns.
