Ive been visually impaired for the last two years with this eye disease…being an artist at heart, it has been heart breaking. First the double vision , then the patch, loss of visual perception, distorted and blurred eyesight. the detail I ONCE DID IS A THING OF THE PAST. I JUST GET SO MELOCHOLY ABOUT ALL THIS i DONT KNOW WHAT IM GOIG TO DO. I CANT DRIVE ANYMORE, MY SON IS MY CHAUFFER..BUT HE MUST GET ON WITH HIS OWN LIFE. MY ENDOCRINE SYSTEM IS SO MESSED UP THAT I TAKE LORAZAPAM TO KEEP ME FROM GOING INTO PANIC ATTACKS,,,IWANT TO CRY BUT THE ANTIDEPRESSANTS KEEP ME FROM THAT. ANYONE IDENTIFY? ANYONE OUT THERE? THEN THE ORBITAL DECOMPRESSION SURGERY HAS WORN ME OUT AND MADE ME SO HYPER SESITIVE. IT WAS A BIG DEAL TO ME TO GET THIS SURGERY…MY FIRSTEXPERIENCE WITH A MAJOR SURGERY…I NEE A GRAVES FRIEND.

    Dear Alaskamom,
I am so sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble! I do not have any experience with the surgery you just had, but I do know that major surgery is quite a big deal! I also took Lorazapam. I took it for three years. My eyes were not severe, but eye movement, tears, protrusion, general puffiness were all affected as well as up-close vision, night vision, and seeing floaters. Everything has improved. Please don’t give up that things will improve for you too. It takes different amounts of time for everyone, and I was one that took a long time in terms of energy and emotions. My eyes improved over a couple of years. My energy seems to have returned full time this sixth year, with only a few days of rest now and then, and my anxiety is so very much better. I feel very close to normal. You have just had major surgery and I would think it not unusual for improvements to come slowly for that. I will keep you in my prayers. Hang in there!! It will get better!

I had been thinking about you and wondering what had happened. Did you get RAI? I have had not had much trouble with my TED, I can only imagine what you’re going through. Having the double whammy of this disease is not fair. I know a woman severe TED, she had mentioned wanting to talk to you. If you like, you can email me directly for her email address.

    Hang in there, Linda
