9-19-96 Hello. This is my first contact with the message board. I just
heard about it a few minutes ago from Nancy Patterson, NGDF. I have
Grave’s and with it the diplopia. I have had 2 surgeries on the inferior
rectus muscles, May 22 and July 16. The direct gaze diplopia was
corrected, but I was left with downward gaze double vision. I am
working on getting prisms put in my glasses and see if that helps.
Looking back I don’t know that I would have had the surgery knowing
what I do now.
But I am coping. A pair of single-purpose bifocals helps with reading
