My endo said that I could either be put on PTU or
Tapazole. I asked him what the difference was between
the two and said they basically do the same thing.
My question is, are the side-effects different?
Is there anything else I should know about the
differences? Have any of you tried both and have
info about the differences? I have heard that
Tapazole can also help some with the eye condition
some people get with Graves (which I hope I am not
getting…my eyes look a little bulging and they
are extremely dry). Any info on these two drugs would
be useful. Also, I have read that anti-thryroid meds
only have a 30 to 40 % success rate at supressing
Graves’. Is this true?
