GRAVES’ DISEASE FOUNDATION RECEIVES GIFT FROM “CLEAN HOUSE” TV SHOW’S MESSIEST HOUSE IN THE COUNTRY

Buffalo, NY – The Clean House TV Show which is shown on the Style Network, selected the Graves’ Disease Foundation’s as its charitable recipient for the proceeds from its annual “Messiest House in the Country” – season finale. The show featured the Hayes Family in Linwood, Illinois making a remarkable improvement in their home living conditions. As a result thousands of items were removed and taken to a huge “Yard Sale” raising a total of $19,367 for the Foundation’s patient services! Graves’ is caused by a defect in the immune system, causing an overproduction of immunoglobulins (antibodies), which attack and stimulate the thyroid gland. This typically causes growth of the gland and an increase in production of thyroid hormones. Similar antibodies may also attack the cells behind the eyes and in the pretibial skin (the skin on the front of the lower leg). Graves’ disease affects two out of every 100 women and large numbers of men as well.
