We all need to follow our own doctor’s instructions, but typically we need to wait a minimum of six weeks before having more blood work. I vaguely recall that my doctor checked things a bit more frequently than that when I was first on the antithyroid drugs like methimazole, but “vague” isn’t good enough. If you have concerns, call your doctor. But it might very well be too soon to check.

I have been diagnosed with Grave’s since April, but my symptoms have been ongoing for almost a year. I thought I was nuts or having heart attacks! Thanks for this site. My question is, I have been feeling pretty good on my dosage of methimazole, but my endocrinologist lessened the dose based on my last blood work about two weeks ago. Since taking less I am starting to get my symptoms back. Should I wait a little while for my body to adjust to the new lower dose. I’m not as bad as I used to be, but am worried it will get just as bad again. Thanks, I appreciate reading the postings as I came to understand that a lot of what I experienced is typical for Grave’s patients.
