    Boy, your opthalmologist sounds great & understanding. Wish I had one like that – mine was more like – yes, you have it, see you next year. The endo your’e going to sounds busy. He (she) must be good.

    As Pat said, bruising is a symptom your doctor needs to be told about. He will probably check your platelet levels and try to determine whether the cause of your bruising is serious.

    Many people with Graves’ have low platelet counts when hyper (which causes bruising and abnormal bleeding). Many medications can cause lowered platelet counts. Also, additional autoimmune diseases happen more frequently in people with one autoimmune disease such as Graves’, and one of them is Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP) which is an autoimmune disease destroying the platelets (which I have).
