Does anyone know about taking Biotin for your thinning hair?

I’ve just read two conflicting articles. One saying it has no side effects whatsoever and is water solvable so you can’t od.

The other states you can affect your thyroid tests with excess biotin in your bloodstream?

Any information you can give me would be great!,

Hello – I’m not familiar with the thyroid testing issue. The National Institutes of Health is always a good source for supplement info, and this is what they had to say about biotin:

You might check the references on the two articles you mentioned to see if that sheds any light as to which is the more credible source.

    Take care!

My hairdresser told me to take it so I did for about one month and whoa! it’s probably just me but I had severe, severe, hot flashes from it. they were happening every few minutes, I was going crazy so I stopped it.

And it did nothing for my hair. He recommend Rogaine, but so you can always purchase clip-in hair extensions. I have those and they are completely safe! Rogaine I was told can affect the liver but there is no solid evidence.
